FAQs
why should i hire a professional pet sitter?
A pet sitter can be a friend or a neighbor, and they can be a great resource when they are available; however, sometimes your pet is not their priority and they rush through a visit. When you hire a pet professional, you have an individual who has a passion for pet-sitting, and their priority will be your pet’s care and needs. A consultation to come by & meet with you and your pet at your home is provided to first time clients. The consultation allows us to become familiar with you and your pet(s) as well as set up your customized services. It is a chance to get to know each other, for us to see your pet’s environment, and interact with your pet(s).
are you insured or bonded?
When hiring DogPaw, you will get a professional pet sitter that is 100% insured and bonded, with references, dedicated service, and a wealth of knowledge to properly care for your pet.
Can I add a visit(s) the same day?
Yes! On most days we are able to add a visit. As long as we have met with you and your pet prior to the requested visit. We cannot pick up last minute requests on holidays.
what time can i expect my visit(s)?
Most visits are 30 minutes, but can be extended upon request. Although there are many clients who request specific times, for those who do not, here is an overview of the times our sitters follow:
AM visits between 7am & 10:30am, Midday visits between 11am & 2:30pm, Evening visits between 3pm & 7pm and Late Night visits between 8pm & 930pm
*overnights upon requests*
do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, we have a cancellation policy during major holidays. If you need or want to cancel a scheduled dog walk there is no fee as long as it is done with enough time to contact our sitter before the visit. Please contact us for further explanation.
do you offer discounts?
We do not give discounts as our rates are kept lower than most of our professional competitors.
Does over- night include a dinner & breakfast feeding?
Overnight visits include breakfast in the morning before your sitter departs. All other visits vary depending on which services and times you request.

can you administer medicine to my pet?
Yes, we will administer medications with your approval and directions.
what is included in a visit?
Whether providing daily visits or dog walks to your pets, our sitter will try to keep as close to your pets’ routine as possible. Because we strive to customize your care, at your initial consultation let us know the specifications of what you want ( ie. refresh water, walk, play with your pet(s), and if applicable, administer medicine; times may vary depending on the service you have selected).
How am i billed?
Invoices are sent out via email on the 15th and last day of each month for our regularly scheduled dog walk visits. Out of town care and overnight visits will be billed to the client via email the following business day of your return. We accept checks, Venmo, Zelle and PayPal.
